At Road Scholars: Institute of Driving – Driving School, Driving Academy, we focus on reliability and excellence. The driver’s education courses offered by us are taught by professionally certified, state of Louisiana approved classroom and driving instructors. Each of our instructors is experienced and has undergone extensive training in various levels of driver’s education including the specialization in adaptive methods for various driver behaviors and disabilities, advanced traffic safety protocols, and vehicle safety and technology regulations.
Every driving school is going to have some sort of delay time. However, unlike many driving schools that focus on reaching maximum capacity for each class, we try to keep the student-to-instructor ratio relatively low to avoid extended driving delays. Our driving instructors work closely with each family’s schedule when it comes to completing the driving sessions. Inclement weather can delay our student drivers and cause delays within the driving instructor’s schedules.
In order to maintain an affordable, cost-effective price for each student and his or her family, the wait time can take as long as a few months but will not exceed the state deadline of three (3) months for our adult students and four (4) months for our minor students.
Please be mindful that the summer along with holidays are considered the busy seasons so we encourage families to consider the wait during these times when enrolling in a driver’s education program.
Road Scholars: Institute of Driving – Driving School, Driving Academy provides late-model sedans equipped with dual control brakes and an automatic transmission. Having our training vehicles set up with a dual brake system provides student safety, and allows each of our driving instructors more opportunity to direct the student’s driving, which allows our student drivers to learn more effectively. Also, our training vehicles are logged with GPS tracking units that record time, date, and vehicle speed in real-time. As a safety measure, we also have mounted front and rear camera systems that record audio and video for quality and training purposes.
Road Scholars: Institute of Driving – Driving School, Driving Academy would like to make this process as easy and convenient as possible. We provide all of the necessary liability insurance for our student drivers, driving instructors, and training vehicles. Our students regardless of age are fully insured so it is not necessary to obtain any kind of motor vehicle insurance when registering with us.
The student must have his or her Temporary Instructional Permit (TIP) card that was issued by the Office of Motor Vehicles for each behind-the-wheel session. If a student arrives or is picked up and does not have the Temporary Instructional Permit (TIP) card on hand, the behind-the-wheel driving session will be canceled and the student/parent will be charged a $50.00 cancellation fee to cover the instructor’s cost. This fee will be required before the next scheduled session can begin.
If a student misses or cancels a scheduled driving session without notice (24-hour notice) a cash fee of $50.00 will be charged to cover the instructor’s cost. This fee will be required before the next scheduled session can begin. Certificates will be held until all fees are paid. No certificate will be awarded until the course requirements are met.
Our goal is not only to provide Louisiana based student drivers with an exceptional and engaging learning experience but also to accommodate in every way possible. We work closely with each student’s schedule and, unlike other local driving schools in the Baton Rouge, Denham Springs, Gonzales, Hammond, and Walker areas, we will never ask a student to miss school in order to complete the driving sessions.
We do have two female instructors to accommodate our female students. In the event that we have a surplus of female students, we may assign male instructors to help alleviate a backup in the driving schedule. If this occurs, you can choose to wait for one of the female instructors. However, there may be an extended delay depending on the number of female students in the driving queue.
