Our Mission Statement
Road Scholars: Institute of Driving is a local, family-owned and operated driving school / driving academy in Walker, Louisiana that emphasizes our driver’s education (driver’s ed / drivers ed) program that provides quality over quantity to new drivers who are applying for a learner’s permit or driver’s license in the following areas: Ascension Parish: Dutchtown, Galvez, Geismar, Gonzales, Prairieville, Saint Amant / East Baton Rouge Parish: Baker, Baton Rouge, Central City, Zachary / Livingston Parish: Denham Springs, French Settlement, Holden, Killian, Livingston, Port Vincent, Satsuma, Springfield, Watson / Tangipahoa Parish: Amite City, Hammond, Independence, Ponchatoula, Roseland, Tickfaw. Our mission is to educate, inform, and prepare drivers for a lifetime of safe and enjoyable driving while using the latest techniques, educational content, and research. We value safety. This is the reason why we strive to educate our children, friends, and future-generation drivers about the potential risks involved with operating a vehicle. Our driving instructors are passionate about making an encouraging impact. Our belief is that the most important safety feature in a car is not the airbags, anti-lock brake system, or even the seat beat, it is the driver. Together, let’s take the responsibilities involved with driving seriously so that way we can create a safer driving environment for everyone.

Road Scholars: Institute of Driving is approved, certified, and licensed by the Department of Public Safety & Corrections, Office of Motor Vehicles, and the State of Louisiana.
Our Story
Our family has suffered the loss of two immediate family members, victims of drunk and reckless drivers. After the second loss, not only did we want to make sure students were receiving a thorough driver’s education, but we also wanted to spread awareness and help prevent families from experiencing a loss of their own.
